We are proud to announce that we have been named a finalist of the Top InfoSec Innovator Awards from Cyber Defense Magazine (CDM).
“ContraForce embodies three major features we judges look for with the potential to become winners: understanding tomorrow’s threats, today, providing a cost-effective solution and innovating in unexpected ways that can help mitigate cyber risk and get one step ahead of the next breach,” said Gary S. Miliefsky, Publisher of Cyber Defense Magazine.
We’re thrilled to receive this recognition from the judges who are leading infosec experts from around the globe. ContraForce is the first independent Security Service Delivery Platform (SDDP) company. As defined by Gartner, an SSDP decouples the security services of a managed security service provider (MSSP) or managed service provider (MSP) from the platform used to deliver them.
The ContraForce SSDP allows service providers to quickly deploy or improve a managed detection and response (MDR) service for small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) and medium sized enterprises (MSEs).
The ContraForce SSDP is also the first SSDP that allows service providers to automate the management of Microsoft Sentinel. As a result, Microsoft, the world’s largest company, awarded ContraForce, a nascent 20-person startup, with the 2024 Security Excellence Award for Security ISV of the Year.
Our SaaS offering, ContraForce Spark, is a cloud-based managed service workbench on our SSDP. Services providers around the world rely on Spark to create competitive advantage by jump starting a new line of business, improving their margins and delivering better client outcomes. Customers have told us that the profit margins of their MDR services have increased by about 40 percent due to using Spark. The reasons for this are two-fold.
First, Spark reduces our customers' operating costs by dramatically improving the efficiency of their security team. For example, 90 percent of the manual work that would have been done if their team worked directly with Microsoft Sentinel is automated by using Spark, including onboarding, detection engineering, and response engineering support. Spark also automates incident management, case management, and the investigation process, resulting in analysts spending 85 percent less screen time to accomplish the same work.
Second, Spark provides a favorable pricing model that is based on the number of clients a service provider manages and does not include data volume fees or per-user fees. This approach has allowed our customers to increase their profit margin as they expanded engagements within their clients.
Take Bulletproof for example. Bulletproof, based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada is one of Microsoft's leading MSSPs with customers around the world. They have been a ContraForce customer since January 2024 at which time they deployed Spark to improve their MDR service.
Ricardo Nicolini, CTO at Bulletproof says, “I would recommend ContraForce to other MSSPs that are seeking to improve their operations, that are looking for efficiencies, that are looking for better ways of doing the same tasks we do every day.” ContraForce has also allowed Bulletproof to expand its service offering. Ricardo says, “we are really excited about the new things that we’re going to deliver to our security operations center because of the new platform.”
Winners of the Top InfoSec Innovator Awards will be announced on October 31, 2024. Wish us luck!
